Admission information

Registration & Admission Procedure

  • Admissions are accepted for boys and girls from PG up to Class XI — open to all, irrespective of class, creed and community.
  • The academic year commences in April; registrations are accepted from December of the preceding year. Enquiries are welcome at any time of year.
  • Registration for Play Group is for children aged 2+ years (see the Munchkins page for details).
  • An authentic date-of-birth certificate is essential for admission.
  • Students from other schools joining Classes I–XII must produce a Transfer Certificate and previous marksheet. Inter-state transfers are verified online from the previous school.
  • Please tally the name and date of birth on the form with the original certificate — the date of birth recorded cannot be changed later.

Important instructions

  • Forms may be collected, filled and submitted at the school reception desk, after which the student's name is registered. If filled by a guardian, this must be stated clearly.
  • Incomplete applications will be disqualified.
  • Admission may be subject to the child's performance in the School Admission Test, and rests on the sole discretion of the school.
  • A place cannot be confirmed until all dues are cleared.

Documents Required for Registration

Attested copies of the following should be enclosed with the filled-in registration form:

  • Birth Certificate (photocopy at registration; original at admission for verification).
  • Previous year's marksheet from Class II onwards.
  • Transfer Certificate (original at admission, from Class II onwards).
  • Four recent passport-sized colour photographs of the pupil.
  • Registration card issued in Class IX and XI from the concerned board.
  • Certificates of co-curricular / extra-curricular activities, if any (photocopies only).

ICSE Admission (Classes II–IX)

  • Vacancies for Classes II–IX, if any, are notified on our website; applications are then accepted from April until further notice.
  • Address applications to the Principal. Clearly mention the class of interest, contact numbers and email.
  • Attach a copy of the birth certificate and the child's latest progress report.
  • Incomplete and late applications will not be entertained.
  • If a vacancy arises, the school office will contact you.

ISC Admission

Applications may be made only after preliminary results are declared and if a vacancy exists. Address them to the Principal, mentioning:

  • Child's name, current school and standard.
  • Contact numbers and email (essential).
  • Attachments: copy of birth certificate; results of Standards IX, X and Preliminary exams; co-curricular certificates (photocopies only).
  • Incomplete applications will be disqualified. The school will contact you in case of a vacancy.

UP Board Admission (Classes IX–XII)

The school runs UP Board classes only for Standards IX to XII. Submit applications at the school office, mentioning the class of interest and attaching:

  • Child's name, current school and class.
  • Copy of birth certificate and latest progress reports of Standards IX, X and preliminary exams.
  • Co-curricular / extra-curricular certificates (photocopies only).
  • Admission may be subject to the School Admission Test and rests on the Principal's discretion.
  • Submission of the Transfer Certificate is mandatory once admission is granted.

Academic Curriculum

At SPPS, Education for Life, Excellence in Education and a commitment to meaningful education are of prime importance. We believe a love for learning should be developed in the early years.

Teaching methodology

A unidirectional teaching method is increasingly replaced by a multidirectional, group-practical approach. The teacher becomes a group co-ordinator, nurturing students without the phobia of exams and homework. Emphasis is on oral and written expression through interactive, technology-moulded sessions, with home assignments oriented towards honing individual talents.

Accreditation

SPPS is affiliated with The Council for the ICSE/ISC Examinations, New Delhi, widely acknowledged for its international-quality courses. We follow the ICSE–ISC curriculum in Classes I–XII using council-prescribed books, and also offer UP Board curriculum in Classes IX–XII.

Sports & Physical Education

"What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom."

We lay strong emphasis on sports and physical development, supported by a big playground and diverse facilities. Our curriculum builds strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control and balance.

  • The school organises an Annual Sports Meet, 'Euphoria', for both senior and junior wings.
  • We believe in mass participation — intra-school, inter-school, state and national level events — encouraging every student to join at least one event.
  • Part-time coaches are employed for karate, self-defence, yoga and more; indoor games like chess and carrom remain firm favourites.
  • Students learn about body parts and muscle development for each sport, alongside game knowledge.
